Ο μαζικός τουρισμός ήταν ανέκαθεν μια διαδικασία που άλλαζε ονόματα και τοποθεσίες ανεξέλεγκτα. Καθώς οι κοινωνικές και οι οικονομικές αξίες διαφοροποιούνται, παρατηρούνται αλλαγές στις προτεραιότητες και στις προτιμήσεις, στους παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν τις επιλογές για τους τόπους προορισμού. Επαρχιακές πόλεις ξαφνικά χάνονται από τον τουριστικό χάρτη, με αποτέλεσμα να καταρρέουν και οι παραγωγικές δραστηριότητες που σχετίζονται με το φαινόμενο. Με βάση τις νέες διαμορφούμενες συνθήκες, η τουριστική αγορά αλλάζει και προσαρμόζεται στα σύγχρονα δεδομένα.
Ο τουρισμός είναι μέρος μια αέναης εναλλαγής από την ακμή στη παρακμή.
Ο Βασίλης Πρωτόπαπας γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στην Αθήνα το 1977, όπου και κατοικεί ακόμα.
Η αρχική του ενασχόληση με τη φωτογραφία ξεκίνησε μέσα από τα ταξίδια. Στη συνέχεια, ξεκίνησε σπουδές στο pragma school of photography (2013) με τον Θάνο Παπαδόπουλο και τον Αλέξανδρο Κάτση.
Επίσης έχει σπουδάσει φωτογραφία στη σχολή Orama (2016) με τον Γιάννη Ριζομάρκο και την Μυρτώ Παπαδοπούλου.
Αυτή την περίοδο, ασχολείται με κάποια προσωπικά projects και με υλικό Street photography
O φωτογράφος Christopher Anderson έχει πει “Emotion is really the only thing about pictures I find interesting. Beyond that it is just a trick”
Είναι κάτι που τον βρίσκει απόλυτα σύμφωνο και προσπαθεί πάντα να το έχει σαν βάση όσον αφορά τη φωτογραφία

Beneath the remains
Mass tourism has been always a circular process which means that depending on the circumstances it may vanish or re-appear. Regarding that the social and economic values are always evolving, significant changes related with the places of destination have occurred. Provincial cities are no longer considered as tourist destinations and suddenly all related business activities are falling apart. Based on the new circumstances, the market is adapting its shape within the new data.
One thing is certain: Tourism is a part of a time loop that always evolving and reforms

Vasilis Protopapas was born in Athens, Greece in 1977 and still lives here.
His initial involvement with photography started via travelling. In the years to come he realised that maybe he should take this one step further. Therefore, he joined pragma school of photography (2013) with Thanos Papadopoulos and Alexandros Katsis
He has also studied photography in Orama school of photography (2013) with Yannis Rizomarkos and Myrto Papadopoulos.
He is currently developing specific projects and street photography work
