Το Athens Photo Festival, πιστό στο καθιερωμένο ραντεβού του, θα αποτελέσει για ακόμα μια χρονιά τη μεγάλη γιορτή της φωτογραφίας και του σύγχρονου οπτικού πολιτισμού στην Ελλάδα.

Το Athens Photo Festival 2019 εγκαινιάζεται την Πέμπτη 13 Ιουνίου στις 20:30, στο Μουσείο Μπενάκη / Πειραιώς 138, αποτελώντας για ακόμα μια φορά τη μεγάλη γιορτή της φωτογραφίας στην Ελλάδα.
75 καλλιτέχνες από 30 χώρες, σημαντικοί διεθνείς προσκεκλημένοι και ένα ευρύ φάσμα δράσεων και παράλληλων εκδηλώσεων, τοποθετούν την Αθήνα στο επίκεντρο της διεθνούς φωτογραφικής σκηνής.

Το Athens Photo Festival, διαρκώς αναστοχαστικό ως προς το ρόλο του στη σημερινή κοινωνική πραγματικότητα, εισέρχεται στην τέταρτη δεκαετία ενεργής παρουσίας του και εστιάζει στο μέλλον, αναδεικνύοντας καλλιτεχνικές πρακτικές που αντικατοπτρίζουν τις αναζητήσεις και τους πειραματισμούς στη σύγχρονη φωτογραφία.

Οι εκθέσεις του φεστιβάλ αναπτύσσονται στους δύο ορόφους του μουσείου, σε έκταση 2.000 τμ, και παρουσιάζουν φωτογραφικά έργα σύγχρονων δημιουργών, οπτικοακουστικό υλικό και φωτογραφικά βιβλία. Το πρόγραμμα της διοργάνωσης περιλαμβάνει, μεταξύ άλλων, ένα σύνολο δράσεων –προβολές, εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα, portfolio reviews, ομιλίες, παράλληλες εκδηλώσεις και εκθέσεις– που διευρύνουν το διάλογο και την ενεργό συμμετοχή.
