Το “After they pass by, they never come back,but I can’t recall” είναι μια σειρά φωτογραφιών ανάμνησης.
Η μνήμη καταγράφεται πάνω στον χρόνο και ο χρόνος με την σειρά του, μετατρέπει τη στιγμή σε ανάμνηση. Μία ρευστή και θολή καταγραφή στο μυαλό μας, που μερικές φορές μπορεί να αφήνει περιθώρια αμφισβήτησης ενός γεγονότος που ανήκει στο παρελθόν.
Την μνήμη αυτή αποφάσισα να καταγράψω φωτογραφικά, όπως την βίωσα και συνεχίζω να την βιώνω, ρευστή και θολή με έντονες αντιθέσεις.
Δίπτυχα με χρονικές σειρές γεγονότων, εικόνες που μοιάζουν με μνήμες, οράματα χωρίς τόπο και χρόνο.
Η επιλογή της χαμηλής ανάλυσης έγινε για την εικονοποίηση της μνήμης, αλλοιωμένη όπως ακριβώς θυμόμαστε πράγματα πριν κοιμηθούμε ή πριν ξυπνήσουμε αλλά και μια προσωπική τοποθέτηση απέναντι στον κόσμο της εικόνας χωρίς ατέλειες ,που δεν είναι πραγματική, φτιαγμένη με κύριο σκοπό την ικανοποίηση του θεατή και τίποτα άλλο.
Η επιλογή του χώρου που φιλοξενείται η έκθεση είναι μια αντιπρόταση στους κλασικούς χώρους εκθέσεων. Οι εικόνες που ανήκουν στη καθημερινότητα, μπορούν να τοποθετηθούν παντού.
Τι σημασία έχει μια καθαρή εικόνα όταν δεν συμβαδίζει με την εικόνα της μνήμης; Σε έναν τόσο γρήγορο κόσμο πληροφορίας και πίεσης…όλα χάνονται αμέσως και δεν ξαναεπιστρέφουν…μα συνέβησαν όντως;

Photography Exhibition
“After they pass by, they never come back, but I can’t recall” is a series of photographs of memory.
Memory is recorded over time, and time in turn, transforms the moment into a memory. A fluid and blurry record in our mind, which might sometimes leave room for an event that belongs in the past to be questioned.
I decided to record this memory photographically, as I experienced it and continue to experience it, fluid and blurred with strong contrasts. Diptychs of events in order of occurrence, images that resemble memories, visions without a place or time. Low resolution was made to depict memory as distorted as the things we remember right before we fall asleep or wake up, but also as a personal statement on the world of images devoid of imperfections, far removed from reality, created solely to satisfy the viewer.
The choice of venue for this exhibition is a counter-proposal to the spaces typically chosen for exhibitions.
Images of everyday life can be displayed anywhere.
What is the significance of a clear image when it does not match the image of memory? In such a fast-paced world of information and pressure…everything is instantly lost never to return…but did it really happen?
