Έφη Λάσκαρη – Off season
Το πρότζεκτ Off-season συνδυάζεται με εκείνο που δούλευα εκείνη την περίοδο, με τίτλο “Λουόμενοι”, όπου προσπάθησα να ανακαλύψω τις ιδιαιτερότητες των λουόμενων, τις συνήθειες και τις προτιμήσεις τους, τα συναισθήματά τους, τη χαλάρωση και την ανεμελιά τους, καθώς και τις φιλίες τους.
Στο Off-season μού έκανε εντύπωση η μυστικιστική αύρα και το πόσο διαφορετικό έμοιαζε το τοπίο εκτός σεζόν. Έτσι, αυτή η δουλειά προέκυψε -σχεδόν επέβαλε την παρουσία της – μέσω μιας άλλης. Περιπλανώμενη στα ξενοδοχεία των διαφόρων θερέτρων της Αττικής και στις ατελείωτες παραλίες τους, αυτό που αισθανόμουν δεν ήταν εγκατάλειψη ή ερημιά αλλά μια παύση από τον θόρυβο του κοσμικού καλοκαιριού. Η πάχνη στην ατμόσφαιρα, η απόλυτη ηρεμία, οι ψαράδες και οι ψαρόβαρκες, οι μοναχικοί κολυμβητές, τα καλυμμένα με πλαστικό αποδυτήρια, τα σκονισμένα παράθυρα των παλιών ξενοδοχείων, κάποια μοναδικά ευρήματα στις παραλίες (από πλαστικά παιχνίδια μέχρι κούκλες βιτρίνας), όλα μαρτυρούσαν την παράλληλη ύπαρξη ενός κόσμου σε σίγαση, που έβρισκε τώρα την ευκαιρία να ξεμυτίσει και να αποκαλυφθεί. Οι ντόπιοι ανακτούσαν την πολύτιμη ησυχία τους και μαζί τους έπαιρνα κι εγώ μια βαθιά ανάσα, που τόσο χρειαζόμουν εκείνη την περίοδο.

Bio
Η Έφη Λάσκαρη γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στην Αθήνα. Το 1993 ολοκλήρωσε τις σπουδές της στην Ελληνική Φιλολογία στο Εθνικό Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ) και έχει εργαστεί πολλά χρόνια ως επιμελήτρια κειμένων. Αυτή την περίοδο, είναι τελειόφοιτη στην Ανωτάτη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών (ΑΣΚΤ), στον τομέα της Ζωγραφικής, με καθηγητές τον Γιώργο Καζάζη και τον Παναγιώτη Σιάγκρη. Η αγάπη της για τη φωτογραφία και το βίντεο καλλιεργήθηκε στο εργαστήριο φωτογραφίας της ΑΣΚΤ, με καθηγητή τον Πάνο Κοκκινιά και στο εργαστήριο Βιντεοτέχνης, με καθηγήτρια τη Βίκυ Μπέτσου.
Έχει συμμετάσχει σε πολλές ομαδικές εικαστικές εκθέσεις και βραβευτεί σε ελληνικά και διεθνή φεστιβάλ φωτογραφίας [Athens Photo Festival 2022, Platforms Project (2020, 2021, 2022), 1st Athens Civil Society Festival, Athens City Festival (Urban Art Project- Lights of the city), Paths of Art, 2023Eleusis, Young Artists at Navarino Agora, Διεθνές φεστιβάλ φωτογραφίας Κορινθίας, Εθνικές προσλήψεις, σύγχρονες απεικονίσεις 1923-2023 στις Διεθνολογικές Συναντήσεις Ναυπλίου κ.ά.].
Η δουλειά της καθώς και συνεντεύξεις έχουν δημοσιευτεί ή και εκδοθεί σε σημαντικά εγχώρια και διεθνή καλλιτεχνικά περιοδικά και ιστότοπους για τη φωτογραφία, καθώς και σε γκαλερί (Lensculture, Lenscratch, Femlens, 35awards, Aatonau, Fisheye, One Eyeland, Espana photo exhibition awards, Popsonality, Spectaculum, Colletivo21, Kiosk of Democracy, See-zeen, Radiant Aberration, Ricoh, Cipriani, No name collective, Docu Magazine, Moments collective, Badass bw, Decagon gallery, Market art gallery, Blank Wall Gallery, Photologio, Art camera, Luminous Eye, Timesilence Photography, The False Mirror, Lightreadings, Photonet etc.)
Τέλος, είχε την τιμή να βρίσκεται μεταξύ των έξι πρώτων υποψηφίων που διακρίθηκαν για το έργο τους, το οποίο παρουσιάστηκε στο Podium του 8ου και του 10ου διεθνούς διαγωνισμού “Explore outside the box” του Institut Francais du Design (Γαλλικό Ινστιτούτο Σχεδιασμού) στο διάσημο φεστιβάλ Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles (2021) και στο Atelier Tarkett στο Παρίσι (2023). Τον Μάιο του 2024, έργο της θα βρίσκεται στην διάσημη Galerie Joseph Le Palais στο Παρίσι, για το Imagenation.

Efi Laskari – Off season
The Off-season project is combined with the one I was working on at the same period called Bathers, where I was trying to find out the special features of the bathers, their habits and preferences, their feelings, their ways of relaxation, as well as their friendships.
On the other hand, during the making of the Off-season portfolio, I was struck by the mystical aura and how different the landscape looked during that time. So, this work emerged – almost forced its presence – through another.
Wandering around the hotels of various regions around Attica, and their endless beaches as well, what I felt was not abandonment or desolation but a respite from the noise of the cosmic summer. The dew in the atmosphere, the absolute tranquility, the fishermen and fishing boats, the lone swimmers, the plastic-covered changing rooms, the dusty windows of the old hotels, as well as unique findings on the beaches (from plastic toys to mannequin dolls), all testified to the parallel existence of a muted world, now finding the opportunity to reveal itself. The locals were regaining their precious silence and I was taking a deep breath too, which I needed so much at that time.
Bio
She was born and raised in Athens, Greece. In 1993 she completed her studies in Greek Philology at the University of Athens (EKPA) and she has worked as a content editor for many years. During this period, she is in her final year of studies at the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA), in the field of Painting with George Kazazis and Panagiotis Siagris as her professors. Her love for photography and video art was cultivated in the ASFA Photography lab with prof. Panos Kokkinias and at the Video lab with prof. Vicky Betsou.
She has participated in many group art exhibitions and has been awarded at Greek and international photography festivals [e.g. Athens Photo Festival 2022, Platforms Project (2020, 2021, 2022), 1st Athens Civil Society Festival, Athens City Festival (Urban Art Project- Lights of the city), Paths of Art, 2023Eleusis, Young Artists at Navarino Agora 2023, International Corinth Photography Festival 2023, Nafplion International Law Conference 2023 etc.].
Her work and interviews have also been published in important photography magazines and sites as well as presented at galleries (Lensculture, Lenscratch, Femlens, 35awards, Aatonau, Fisheye, One Eyeland, Espana photo exhibition awards, Popsonality, Spectaculum, Colletivo21, Kiosk of Democracy, See-zeen, Radiant Aberration, Ricoh, Cipriani, No name collective, Docu Magazine, Moments collective, Badass bw, Decagon gallery, Market art gallery, Blank Wall Gallery, Photologio, Art camera, Luminous Eye, Timesilence Photography, The False Mirror, Lightreadings, Photonet etc.).
Finally, she had the honor of being among the first six candidates to be distinguished, and her work was presented at the Podium of the 8th and 10th international competition Explore outside the box of the Institut Francais du Design (Institut Francais du Design) at Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles (2021) and Atelier Tarkett in Paris, France (2023). In 2024, her work will be at the prestigious Galerie Joseph Le Palais in Paris, for Imagenation.
