Ο φωτογράφος του πρακτορείου Magnum, Mark Power, θα συζητήσει με τον Brad Feuerhelm, φωτογράφο και συντάκτη του American Suburb X, την Κυριακή 3 Νοεμβρίου, στο Void.
Η λαμπρή καριέρα του Mark Power (Μεγάλη Βρετανία) στο χώρο της documentary φωτογραφίας ξεκίνησε το 1996, όταν δημοσίευσε το πρώτο από τα οκτώ βιβλία του, The Shipping Forecast, ένα βιβλίο για την απόκρυφη γλώσσα των μετεωρολογικών δελτίων. Έκτοτε έχει δημοσιεύσει διάφορους τίτλους, οι οποίοι έγιναν δεκτοί με ενθουσιασμό, με πιο πρόσφατους τους δύο πρώτους, από τους πέντε τόμους, του project ‘Good Morning America’ (GOST), το οποίο είναι αφιερωμένο στο αμερικανικό πολιτικό και πολιτισμικό τοπίο. Ο Power ξέρει να απαθανατίζει τις μεταβατικές περιόδους, καθώς κατανοεί τη σημασία τους. Συνεπώς, το τρέχον πρότζεκτ του αποτελεί την πιο φιλόδοξη προσπάθειά του μέχρι σήμερα.
Η δουλειά του έχει εκτεθεί σε πολυάριθμα μουσεία ανά τον κόσμο, ενώ ο ίδιος είναι ενεργό μέλος του Magnum από το 2002 και μόνιμο μέλος του από το 2007.
Ο Brad Feuerhelm, ο οποίος έχει ως τώρα εκδώσει αρκετούς τίτλους με προσωπική του δουλειά, με πιο πρόσφατο τον Dein Kampf (MACK), είναι ο ιδρυτής του American Suburb X.

Η συζήτηση θα περιλαμβάνει την παρουσίαση των συμμετεχόντων του εργαστηρίου (workshop), αλλά και της δουλειάς που πραγματοποίησαν εκείνοι υπό την καθοδήγηση του Power καθ όλη τη διάρκεια των προηγούμενων ημερών στην Αθήνα.
Το συγκεκριμένο εργαστήριο αποτελεί το πρώτο μιας σειράς εργαστηρίων στο πλαίσιο της συνεργασίας του Void με το American Suburb X.

Magnum Agency photographer Mark Power will be in conversation with writer and editor of American Suburb X, Brad Feuerhelm.
The conversation will commence at Void in the heart of Athens on Sunday November 3rd.
Mark Power’s (UK) illustrious career in documentary photography began in earnest in 1996 when he published the first of his eight books The Shipping Forecast a book about the esoteric language of weather reports. He has since successfully published several critically acclaimed books with his recent two
volumes dedicated to the current American political and cultural landscape due in five volumes titled Good Morning, America (GOST). Power understands the importance of capturing moments of transition and his current project is his
most ambitious to date. He widely collected by international museums and has been an active member of Magnum since 2002, with full membership granted in 2007.
Brad Feuerhelm is the author of several books of his own work and has recently published Dein Kampf with MACK. He is the managing editor of American Suburb X.

This conversation will include a presentation of workshop participants that Power will have led over the previous dates in Athens. All participants will show work that has been made during the previous week under Power’s tutelage.
The workshops are the first of a series of high-profile workshops as a partnership between Void and American Suburb X.
