Αφροδίτη Διαμαντοπούλου – (No) stories to be told
Η σειρά φωτογραφιών με τίτλο «(No) Stories to Be Told» αφορά σε ένα εσωτερικό μου ταξίδι από το παρόν στο παρελθόν. Πρόκειται για ένα διάλογο με την οικογενειακή μου συλλογή ασπρόμαυρων φωτογραφιών, τόσο κυριολεκτικά όσο και συμβολικά, καθώς τα άτομα που απεικονίζονται στις εικόνες είναι μέρος της οικογένειάς μου, συγγενείς και φίλοι. Με την παραποίηση των φωτογραφιών και φέρνοντας αυτές στο σήμερα, προσπαθώ να ανακαλύψω τους χαρακτήρες, τις ιστορίες και τους ρόλους τους. Μέσα από αυτή τη διαδικασία, προσπαθώ να αναδημιουργήσω το παρελθόν, να αξιολογήσω τη συμπεριφορά τους και να επαναπροσδιορίσω τον ρόλο μου στην οικογένεια και στην ιστορία.
Bio
Γεννήθηκα και μεγάλωσα στην Αθήνα. Ασχολούμαι συστηματικά με την φωτογραφία από το 2015.
Η πρώτη μου επαφή ήταν μέσω e-learning. Στη συνέχεια παρακολούθησα σεμινάρια φωτογραφίας στο Σπίρτο και τα τελευταία 6 χρόνια παρακολουθώ μαθήματα φωτογραφίας στο εργαστήρι του δήμου Χαλανδρίου, με εισηγητή τον Μπάμπη Κουγεμήτρο.
Εκτός από τις ετήσιες εκθέσεις του εργαστηρίου, φωτογραφίες μου έχουν λάβει μέρος σε ομαδικές εκθέσεις στο Chania International Photo Festival, στην Blank wall gallery, Ifocus gallery, Ελληνική φωτογραφική εταιρία. Επίσης έχουν δημοσιευθεί στο περιοδικό φωτογράφος (gallery των αναγνωστών) και στoν ιστότοπο του περιοδικού dodho (www.dodho.com). Η σειρά (No) stories to be told έχει λάβει τιμητική διάκριση στο International Photography Awards (2021) και στο Sienna Creative Awards (2023).
Επίσης, μία φωτογραφία από την ίδια σειρά επιλέχθηκε από τους συντάκτες του LensCulture για να παρουσιαστεί στη γκαλερί Emerging Talent Awards 2023 Competition.

Afroditi Diamantopoulou – (No) stories to be told
The photo series titled “(No) Stories to Be Told” delves into my inner journey from the present to the past. It forms a discourse with my private family collection, both literally and symbolically, as the individuals portrayed in the images are part of my family, extended relatives, and friends. By manipulating these photographs and aligning them with the present moment, I endeavor to unravel their characters, narratives, and roles. Through this process, I strive to recreate the past, evaluate their behavior, and redefine my role within the family dynamic and the history.
Bio
I was born and raised in Athens. I have been systematically dealing with photography since 2015.
My first contact was through e-learning and then photography seminars in Spirto.
The last 6 years I have been attending photography classes at the workshop of the municipality of Chalandri, with Babis Kougemitros as lecturer.
Except from the annual exhibitions of the workshop, my photos have taken part in group exhibitions at the Chania International Photo Festival, Blank wall gallery, Ifocus gallery, Greek photographic company. They have also been published in photographos magazine (readers’ gallery) and on the dodho’s magazine website (www.dodho.com).
The series (No) stories to be told, received honorable mention at the International Photography Awards- IPA (2021) and the Sienna Creative Awards (2023). Also, one photo from the same series has been selected from the editors of LensCulture to be featured in the Emerging Talent Awards 2023 Competition gallery.
